Põltsamaa restaurant Oberpahlen – Vein & Roog offers its visitors memorable food and wine experiences. You will find a decent wine selection of more than 20 Estonian wine houses from the restaurant – take a glass on spot or buy a bottle as a take-away. You can book wine degustation for you group and make it even more special with a food menu, based on local food heritage – this allows you to experience the dishes inspired by Baltic German noblemen cookbooks.

DEGUSTATION PACKAGE: WINES OF PÕLTSAMAA
We introduce you the wine making history of Põltsamaa that goes back over 100 years. In addition, we have a look at fruit and berry wines that have been produced here over the decades.

We introduce you berry and grape wines, which raw material is grown in Estonia and later the wine is also, of course, made here in Estonia (selection of the wines on agreement with the client).

WINE AND FOOD DEGUSTATION PACKAGE: GRATED POTATO CAKE AND APPLE WINE
Traditionally made grated potato cake is a nostalgic chlidhood memory for many. It is very well accompanied with a classical Estonian apple wine.

FOOD DEGUSTATION PACKAGE: DISHES FROM THE COOKBOOK (1800-1810) OF PÕLTSAMAA MANOR LADY HENRIETTE VON WAHL
We degustate the daily dishes of Baltic German noblemen, who lived in Põltsamaa. The package consists of three different dishes, which are inspired from Henriette von Wahl cookbook (she wrote it in 1800-1810) and have its own touch by our main chef.

1. Perch balls with baked potatotes, salad and souce
2. Stewed chicken with cauliflower
3. Apple pie

FOOD DEGUSTATION PACKAGE: SNACK SELECTION OF LOCAL SMALL FOOD PRODUCERS
This degustation package includes: smoked ham from Paju farm, smoked beef sausage from Andrese farm, handmade bread of Leivapuu, cheese honey from Meemeistrid, fresh pickels and herb butter from our own restaurants’ kitchen.
